weathered, pt 2

cloud watcher.
this is discernment.
to know clouds of desolation,
versus clouds of presence.
to know which clouds to move with,
and which to release.
to know the ones offering shade,
or ones bringing showers.
to know the ones requiring shelter,
bringing dangerous storms.
to know the ones that are shelter,
an engulfing presence, swarms.

to trust the light behind,
when cloud’s still there.
to trust the one in it is good,
and always still here.

compelled and awed by the cloud,
always gazing up and out.
to climb higher or descend lower,
a weathered rhythm and dance about.
moving slow enough to see patterns,
sensitive to direction, speed of wind.
teach me to be a watcher,
waiting on heaven’s rend.
