small clouds

he saw a cloud the size of a man’s hand.

can I see God in the small, the quiet, the silence, the whisper?

previously he showed up in the storm and fire. the powerful.
the clouds were bigger, the wind stronger, the noise louder, the presence more powerful.
same mountain.
but now the cloud is small, the silence, the whisper, the presence more intimate.

will I look for evidence of God’s faithfulness and provision in early stages?
and expect it to grow.

do I have the patience to keep looking and listening? having eyes to see for the way God moves now - in light of his previous faithfulness but also open to his new faithfulness.

can I trust him in the clouds and for the clouds?
can I trust him both when it’s small and growing, and also, trust him when it’s scary and overwhelming?

His presence on the mountain.
the clouds, fires, whispers, winds, and silence.
look, He is about to pass by.
