silent melody

it’s silence that rings true,
the kind deep, bone chilling.
pulls ears sharpened,
aching for a filling.
quiet sits cold, uneasy, alarming,
until comfort washed,
then altogether warming.
silence, the total reset,
clearance of the frequencies.
and once acquainted,
welcomes plenty delicacies.
there’s a quiet in your presence,
that hits different than your absence.
it’s pregnant, it’s potent,
comforted by only a fragrance.
there’s an ease to, i got you,
an exhale accompanies, i got that too.
forgetting the cries for that,
releasing confusion of this.
letting silence be it’s own tune,
a single wavelength of with.
there’s more notes on the page
than i know how to play.
paralysis that turns this instrument,
in my hands, foreign object again.
so silence the new melody,
only your notes to emanate.
it’s not what i play,
only the tone i reverberate.
