one clay vessel

just a vessel.
it’s not about me, but what’s inside me.
and i'm not the source of what's inside me.
simple clay.
pouring from the filling.
out-flow from the in-flow.

just a vessel,
i get to be a vessel.
molded for a unique purpose.
my purpose is set and determined by what it is i carry.
i’m identified by my contents, not my shell.
form fits function.
form meets function.
designed by design.

i’m shaped as i pour.
shape me.
the more i pour, the more fresh the contents.
keep pouring.
what a privilege to be a vessel.

the pouring is for me too.
how intimate to be in your hands.
a vessel with a bottomless source.
the same hands that made me will fill me, will use me.
my helpless, empty space doesn't scare you,
doesn’t mean you’re done.
but means you have a fresh filling.

pour your spirit out, fill me up.
you’re pouring a new thing.
fresh fill for new pouring.
pour more.
