shallow focus of white dandelion
shallow focus of white dandelion

come again,
to tell the story.

i want to hear your voice,
is that yours or mine?

i want to hear you call my name,
what you truly call me.

i want to hear your whisper,
quiet all the others.

i want to hear your breath,
then you’ll be closer.

may i know the sound,
to drown out all the others.
touching a deep echo,
so from my inner it resounds.

then maybe i’ll become your voice,
calling out light from dark.

then maybe i’ll carry your name,
marked by familial belonging.

then maybe i can return your whisper,
until the proximity becomes wordless.

then maybe it’s just breath,
yours and mine entwined,
in and out you dwell,
unfolding a beautiful story,
this one that says you’ve come.
