divine drudgery

what if there’s
sacred in the simple,
miracles in the mundane,
divine in the drudgery,
what if.

then maybe
royalty meets routine,
breakthrough comes in the boring,
lofty emerges from the low,
just maybe.

notice then
thin in the thankless,
holy in the hidden,
close in the cloudy,
that’s noticeably different.

the invitation in the insignificant
to ordain the ordinary,
to consecrate the common,
to wash the dishes,
and take one step at a time,
this is the kingdom i’m invited to know.
