context

context matters.
identifying something is only part of the picture.
think of a mountain. the summit by itself is a patch of land or rock – but with the context of the vast and rapid elevation drop around it brings the power of the spot.
drops of water are simple in a cup or sitting on your grass in the morning – but falling from hundreds of feet in collection with others creates the power of a waterfall you might journey for hours to see.
or those same drops of water in a bottle in the desert carry a different impact than the few ounces collecting in the puddle on the streets of Seattle.
the impact is in the context.
an outlier cannot in fact be an outlier on the same level as others. an outlier cannot be an outlier accompanied by many others.
there is still power in the elevation.
there is still power in the scarcity.
